Ivette and Ryan were married last month at the Southernmost Beach Resort. They chose the Southernmost City as their tropical wedding destination and their loved ones traveled from all over the country to witness them say their "I Do's." The newlyweds chose to incorporate their personal vows into their videos and we love the sentimental touch it adds to their edits.

No matter how many times we make the trip to Little Palm Island, it never gets old. Something about that boat ride out to the exclusive island just takes us right to ... "ahh.... vacation mode!" So it's always a treat capturing these sweet elopements for the couples that say "I Do!" Recently we filmed Becky and Chris taking the leap. One perk of eloping is flexibility. There was a little Tropical Storm brewing in the Atlantic just before Becky and Chris's originally scheduled wedding date and luckily they were able to push things up a couple days to avoid any inclement weather! Congrats to the newlyweds!

Even for locals, sometimes the landscape of the Florida Keys still takes our breath away. JuliAnne & Mike's wedding day was one of those jaw-dropping kind of days in Islamorada. A real life #nofilter atmosphere for this adorable and FUN couple. After the bride and groom had their first look in the most picturesque spot on property at The Cheeca Lodge, we had some fun capturing stop motion photos with the bridal party and then it was onto Pierre's for the formalities. The decor brought in by Floral Fantasy accentuated the already stunning design of Pierre's dining room. It's always a delight, capturing a couple's special day, but these days, weddings seem all the more special. The love in the air was electric and it was so fun to witness these two say, "I Do". Congrats JuliAnne & Mike! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Francesca and Marco adapted with the unpredictable nature of 2020 and decided to elope in paradise. Last month, they exchanged vows at the exclusive island resort, Little Palm Island. Their ceremony was performed in English, however these Italian lovebirds delivered their own personal vows in their native language -- a particularly romantic touch. Having the opportunity to capture more intimate nuptials this year has been a surprising perk to a crazy and challenging year. Congratulations to The Piglios! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

After a long quarantine season away from weddings, Katie and Seth were the perfect lovely couple to jump back in with. They kicked off their wedding festivities with a sail on the Argo Navis to soak up the famous Key West sunset. Come wedding day, the couple posed for some photos in their fancy suit and dress in front of Key West's iconic photo ops and then headed to the historic home of Ernest Hemingway where they would say, "I Do." They wrote each other personal vows that touched the hearts of the guests who traveled to be with them. The lush gardens of the Hemingway House were enhanced by the romantic gold and pink decor accents courtesy of Milan Event. It was so great to capture their unique and lasting love after a few months away from the camera. Congratulations Katie and Seth!

Here are some elements to consider for a successful wedding video:

1. Hire A Planner - probably the most difficult task on your wedding day is to let go and enjoy your day. You’ve dreamt about this day for so long, and now you’ve brought the dream to life with hours and hours of planning. Enjoying your wedding day, your guests, and some closeness with your partner are vital to a successful wedding video. Trust that all of the planning has been figured out every which way. There are professional vendors and a planner who are there to ensure that things run smoothly, and everyone wants  you to enjoy yourself and love your day.  When a bride is preoccupied with taking care of small elements, worrying about guests or details.. it shows on camera and takes away from this amazing day that has been in the works for so long

2. Details & Decor
- The details of your wedding help create the tone and color pallet for your wedding video. Things like invites, announcements, gift bags, flowers, shoes, jewelry, special gifts, vows, notes, the more we can capture, the better. We typically capture these details first, along side the photographer. There are many talented decor teams in Key West that create magical backdrops for your ceremony and reception.

3. Music
- It’s not only important for your reception! Send over all of the songs you plan on using for all aspects of your wedding. Music sets the feel and tempo for the video edits. We typcially do not set up the final music for your wedding until after we shoot the wedding. During the day, we can get a better feel for your personality and the overall vibe of the event… afterwards we take your notes and thoughts and choose music accordingly.

4. Technical Aspects -  Make sure your officiant is amplified. For an outdoor wedding, it is often hard for guests to hear officiants if they are not amplified. We always have a lavaliere microphone on the officiant , but that is audio for the video cameras and will not amplify their voice. Make sure your guests can hear well, so they are more a part of your ceremony.

5. Unplugged Ceremonies - Encourage your guests to be present during this sacred moment in your lives. You can have a custom sign in the ceremony area or even better, have your officiant make an anncouncement just before the processional to please keep cell phones and cameras off and tucked away for the ceremony. It not only keeps them engaged in the moment, it helps your photo and video team too. There’s nothing worse than a camera phone sticking out  into the aisles and often up into the air, blocking our line of site and getting in the way of that perfect shot!

6. Communicate -
If you have specific expectations or wants, definitely communicate those with us… and any of your vendors. We love to see other perspectives and ideas in the wedding film business. There are different styles from other regions and countries.
We love challenges and to make something unique for you and your vision.  We can take ideas from other weddings and then tailer them to your specific event. show us what inspires you!

7. Soak It Up! - Enjoy yourself and take it all in. So many couples say that the day goes by so fast. Often that they don’t get to even see everything and all the details they have planned. A wedding video allows you to see and hear all of the events, areas and people that you love and have come to your wedding.

Wonderdog Weddings hit the road last February to capture Jenn and Kyle's big day at the stunning beach resort, The Islander Resort. The cloudless windy day was the perfect backdrop for this couple's sunny personalities. From the first look to the cake cutting, these two lovebirds were snuggled up close and enjoying every second of their special day. If there's one thing we love at a wedding, it's a dog in the wedding party. Jenn and Kyle may have been the guests of honor, but Biggie certainly stole the show. He escorted the bride down the aisle and made his own entrance at the reception. Congratulations Jenn and Kyle! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Sydnie and Chris said "I Do" on a blustery day in Key West. As they made the leap from fiancés to newlyweds, the winds were shifting to bring in a rare winter storm. The chilly weather didn't stop these two and all of their guests from celebrating hard! After the formalities, the hopped aboard a catamaran for their cocktail hour and the party officially started. We love a group that knows how to have a good time, and the Peterson/Fenner party certainly did! Congrats Sydnie and Chris! Enjoy their highlight videos below.

Loryn and Danny chose the beautiful Casa Marina Resort as the spot where they would start their journey as husband and wife. The day was a celebratory one - and for more than just the newly-wedded-bliss reasons - it also happened to be the bride's birthday. (That adds up to 2 reasons to eat cake!) The couple opted for the ceremony and reception on the white sandy beach of the resort and shared their first dance as husband and wife as the sun began to set. In the lush gardens of the Audubon House, surrounded by their closest loved ones Chase and Christina tied the knot. Their ceremony had a particularly unique touch that was a first for us: a unity beer ceremony where they combined two of their favorite brews as a symbol for how their bond cannot be split. From that to their hilarious wrestling-style entrance into the reception, this couple was all about having a good time on their big day. We're so glad we were there to capture it! Congrats Chase and Christina. Enjoy their highlight videos below.
